Tattered Lace Dies Men's Card Ideas

Hello, today I would like to share some male themed card ideas. I love making male themed cards especially since I became a nanny. Charlie is always at party's and yes we can't leave the guys in our life out of receiving a handmade card . All of the cards are made using Tattered Lace Dies, from the men's collection.
The men's collection is made up of 6 dies. Sailing Ship, Anchor, Fish, Fisherman, Anchor and Globe. They can be purchased from the Crafting web site here.
To bring the die cuts a life I have coloured them with a combination of different colouring medium. Tim Holtz Distress inks, Promarkers, Water colour pencils and Spectrum Noir pens. I have used My Craft studio to make the sentiments and embellished them with Midas Touch foils.

Tattered Lace Blossoming Butterfly Die

The new tattered lace collection Melding was released at CHA in America last week end. This is the largest trade show in the world where craft company's go to show their products for the coming year. It was so exciting to be involved with the samples that Stephanie Weightman the designer for Tattered Lace, and Nancy Watt the editor of the Tattered Lace Magazine took out there with them. The Melding collection is a new concept in card marking that you can choose to leave in the card or add the demi frame and cut out an aperture. There are some complimentary dies that coordinate with The Melding collection and I have chosen the Blossoming Butterfly Die to make todays card.
Recipe
Blossoming Butterfly Die by Tattered Lace.
White A5 blank landscape card by Anna Marie Designs.
Supper Smooth 300gsm card, this is perfect to use with alcohol markers. I always use it if I intend to colour my die cuts. I buy it from Crafting.co.uk.
Solid coloured card stock is the Shades Ombre A4 card pads. These pads take the guess work out of colour matching. I used the Rose pad.
The Patterned papers are a free down load on the Tattered Lace web site.
The Pearls are by The Embellishment Attic .
Promarkers Blush, Tea Rose, Dusky Rose, Dusky Pink, Putty, Pastel Green, Tea Green, Grey Green.

Stephanie designs tattered lace dies with snip ability, which makes the dies so versatile. I hope you can see from the small pictures how I cut out the design in supper smooth card then I colour them with Promarkers. I then place on my card to see what sort of composition that will sit well on my card design. I like to snip sections out and make my own decoupage. As the die cuts are so delicate I would recommend you use a glue jell when layering up, as this type of adhesive dry's clear.
Challenges entered into
Crafting With Friends challenge #12 has an anything goes theme.

Wedding Invitation Idea

My eldest daughter Zoe got engaged on Christmas eve which has got me thinking about the wedding stationary they might like. The wedding is 18months away but I will need to get my thinking cap on. she deserves some thing special and over the coming weeks I am going to make a few serving suggestions to see what she likes. Being mum of the bride who makes cards there is an extra pressure to make some thing special. I have only made one of wedding stationary and that was for my brother.

 Ingredients List.
A5 white Landscape card from Anna Marie Designs
Tattered Lace Duchess Die.
Tattered lace Byzantine Lattice Die
Tattered Lace Byzantine Lattice embossing folder
Embellishments from the Tattered Lace Embellishment Attic.
Shimmer card and paper is Centura pearl.
Please don't think the duchess die is for weddings only, here are two more cards I made using it. when buying a die please look as a tool, an investment . Tattered lace have snip-ability, not sure if that's a real word, they have lots of small detail flowers and swirls.

Thank you for popping by today, feel free to leave comments or ask any questions. I look forward to seeing you soon. Crafty hugs Julie Ann x
